Sirhowy Valley, Caerphilly
Sirhowy Valley Country Park is a great base for walking. The walk features spectacular mountain scenery, woodlands, disused railway lines, lakes and tumbling rivers. The walk starts at the Aneurin Bevan Memorial Stones at Tredegar and in all it’s 26 miles but it can be completed in seven stages.

Cwmcarn Forest Drive, Caerphilly
This is a 7-mile scenic route through the rolling hills and green mountains of one the country's largest urban forests. It’s a varied walk, with a stiff climb, a ridge walk and an easy return. The 360º views make your ascent to the top well worth the effort. On a clear day you can see forever.

Wye Valley Walk
If you are looking for a pleasant afternoon stroll then make your way to the Wye Valley. This 136 mile trail follows the river valley from Chepstow in Monmouthshire to the slopes of Plynlimon in Powys and is waymarked with a leaping salmon logo.
It criss crosses between England and Wales, moving through historic towns of Chepstow, Monmouth, Ross on Wye, Hereford, Hay on Wye, Builth Wells and Rhayader.
