Hooray! January 2007 has rolled onto the calendar so it’s time to wipe the slate clean and revitalize ourselves with a fresh start!

Come January, here’s betting most of us will join a nationwide stampede to our local leisure centre or park, raring to test our newborn enthusiasm.

But while it’s all very well starting up at the gym and vowing to get back into our swimsuits by the summer, what will happen a few months down the line?

As the festive season dies down, will those Christmas trainers still be taken for regular walks - or abandoned in a box by the back door waiting to be thrown out?

Well your health is for life, not just for Christmas! Whether it’s sampling the dizzy heights of Wales’ crisp mountain-scapes in spring sunshine, tracing the sandy coastline in a summer breeze or exploring the leafy countryside peaks and trails in autumn, physical activity is there to be enjoyed all year round.

To help put those failed intentions behind us and seize a healthy 2007 with both hands, The Sports Council for Wales has some tips to keep your resolution enthusiasm ticking round the clock, not just when it strikes midnight!
