Free SwimmingDiscover the benefits of the Welsh Assembly Government's Free Swimming initiative from the people who have been dipping their toes in the water as seven-year-old Elizabeth and her 63-year old grandmother Sonia Evans from Pontypool make a splash at their local swimming pool.

Supported by the Welsh Assembly Government the Free Swimming Initiative entitles all children aged 16 yrs and under to access 'Free Swimming' during selected sessions in your Local Authority swimming pool in the school holidays.

And if you're 60 years or over and looking to try something different then the ‘Free Swimming Initiative’ may be just what you're looking for. The Welsh Assembly Government launched the 60+ Free Swimming scheme in 2004 and since then, over a million free swims have been provided in local authority swimming pools across Wales.
