TOP COACH AND PLAYERS RETURN TO WALES
25 Sep 2007
One of the world’s leading tennis coaches will help develop the skills of Wales’ rising stars this weekend in the latest boost for the sport.
Peter D McCraw has worked with stars such as Maria Sharapova, Jelena Jankovic and Xavier Malisse, and is running a series of clinics for Tennis Wales over the next year.
This Saturday (29th September) he will be at the High Performance Centre in Wrexham for sessions with three of Wales’ brightest tennis prospects, Sian Bayliss, Olivia Scarfi and Matt James.
Tennis Wales player of the year, Sian, and Olivia – a member of the victorious Wales senior team in this month’s Four Nations Championships - are both relocating from centres in England to be based in Wrexham, where they join Junior Wimbledon player Matt.
"It’s great to have Peter back in Wales," said Tennis Wales national performance manager Nick Lawrence. "His vast experience and knowledge of the international scene is a huge help, as we work to improve standards further.
