WSA CALLS FOR SPORTS ADMIN NOMINATIONS
13 May 2008
The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is calling for nominations for its prestigious annual Administrator of the Year Award, which will be presented at the Association’s AGM on 16th June 2008.
As the umbrella body for more than 60 National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of Sport in Wales, the WSA recognises the huge amount of effort put in by thousands of volunteers across Wales on a daily basis to make such a diverse sporting programme possible.
Without the selfless efforts of so many volunteers, sport in Wales in its current form would be unsustainable. Behind every sport in Wales is a small army of volunteers who make things happen. From match officials, coaches and parent helpers, such volunteers make up the backbone of Welsh sport. The Association is seeking to officially recognise the efforts of one such outstanding individual; somebody, not necessarily in the public eye, whose unstinting efforts as an Administrator within their sport, makes such a telling contribution. There are thousands of such individuals across Wales and the WSA is urging all National Governing Bodies and their member sports clubs to nominate deserving candidates.
Both the nominator and nominee must belong to either a National Governing Body in Wales or one of its member clubs. Nomination forms are available from Greta Gueresi-Leach, telephone , email: or can be downloaded from www.welshsports.org.uk/administratoroftheyear.asp.
