Additional Information

Fencing Participation

The adult (aged 15+) participation rate in Sports Council for Wales surveys is too low to provide any meaningful trend data. However, in 1991 there were an estimated 250 fencers in Wales (Sports Council – A Digest of Sports Statistics for the UK, 1991). In comparison with current Welsh Fencing membership figures it would appear that numbers of fencers has increased.

Provision for Fencing

Fencing takes place on a piste, a non-slip surface measuring 14m by 2m. It can normally be easily accommodated in most sports halls.
