Committee Structure: Governed by a Council comprising the President, Chairman, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Championship Secretary, Coaching Secretary, Environment Officer, Child Protection Officer and Forestry Liaison Officer. The Council meets at least twice a year. There are Committees for: Management; Enduro Road Race and Sprints; Trials and Motocross; Coaching; Countryside.

Participation in Motocross/Scrambling is highest in Flintshire and lowest in Cardiff and Wrexham. When asked how many times they had participated in the past 4 weeks, the mean was just over three times.

Profile of Participants

Motocross/Scrambling participants are much more likely to be male than female. Most participants are in the 15-34 age group, with participation falling sharply after 35. Participation is spread fairly evenly across social groups B, C and D.

Provision for Motor Cycling

The sport of off-road motor cycling in Wales is mainly club based with most venues either on private farmland or forestry land. There are currently 93 sites recorded in the Sports Council for Wales’s natural facilities database.
